Match Report
Boundary Oak School Mixed-U16A vs  ISA National Championships
On: Monday, 04 Oct 2021
Venue: Away

On Monday morning the newly established ski team travelled to Hertfordshire to compete in the ISA Championships. Arriving at Hemel Snow Centre, we collected our race bibs, layered up in snow wear and eased into the boots. Not having skied for a couple of years, the team were a little anxious, yet as soon as they hit the slopes for their warm up, it was fabulous to see them grinning with excitement.

Daisy and Lilya went first in the U14 group with Alfie following them in the boys U14 category whilst Oliver waited for his U16 event. Yes........ all racing against much older pupils!

Whilst there were clearly some very experienced full time race skiers, it was great to see our skiers soon ease into the competition. All four had two clear runs without any penalties and their times improved each time.

With this being the first time at such an event, we knew we wouldn't need to collect a trophy cabinet on the journey home; but our success and achievements were written on their faces. Buzzing throughout the day, we can say that we all had an incredible day out, enjoying the skiing and making such vast improvements.
